Come out and see us on Saturday February 18th at Big Lots located at 5165 Broadway, Depew NY. We will be set up at a table near the front door from 10 am-1 pm. We will have information about our rescue, a collection jar, and brushes and cat treats for sale with all proceeds benefiting the kitties! We will also be collecting ink cartridge and cell phone donations to redeem for cash so bring your old electronics!

2nd Annual Party Like An Animal for Haven House Cats

It's that time of year again; it's time to Party Like An Animal for Haven House Cats! This is our second go at this event and we are hoping to make it even bigger and better than last time! We have moved the event to March (our last one was in August) as not to clash with summer festivals and warm weather events. So mark your calendars!

The weather outside is frigid and unappealing, so what better way to spend a Saturday night than partying it up with friends and fellow cat-lovers while raising some much needed funds for rescue! All proceeds benefit the kitties of Haven House Cats, helping us afford vetting, spaying/neutering, supplies and other rescue expenses.

Tickets are $12 pre-sale and $15 at the door. Tickets include 3 hours All-U-Can-Drink draft and well drinks, snacks, pizza (yum!), and 5 tickets for our basket raffle. Additional tickets will be sold for our gift basket raffle and we will also have two 50/50 drawings, one at 10:30 pm and one at midnight! Last year we had some amazing baskets and prizes, including a Delta Sonic gift basket, baby baskets, Salvatore's gift certificates, archery gift certificates and 2 tickets to Six Flags Darien Lake! Don't miss out because this year's gonna be even better!

Please note: this is a 21 and older event! Proper ID required!

ORDER TICKETS BY EMAILING havenhousecats@aol.com. You can also order by paypal by sending your payment to havenhousecats@aol.com. Don't forget to include the number of tickets you want, your name and the address to ship tickets to.

The Rainbow Bridge

For anyone who has ever lost a pet, our heart goes out to you. It is never easy, and we hope this poem can provide some comfort during this difficult time.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

URGENT! Sammy needs a home ASAP!

UPDATE: Sammy found a home with a wonderful couple! We are so happy for him. They took him to the vet and found out he was quite underweight and malnourished. But after a few days of regular feedings, Sammy has much more energy!! Go Sammy!

HELP!! Sammy URGENTLY needs a place to live out the rest of his days. He is a pitbull/boxer mix, 12 years old. He has a very large fatty tumor on his side which is shocking to see but doesn't hurt him at all. He is also partially blind and deaf. A garage is no place for this senior dog to be living! His owners are considering putting him to sleep if they cannot find him a home soon! Please help this sweet guy if you can! He is great with cats, dogs and kids, and adjusts very well to new environments. He doesn't whine and rarely barks. He is housebroken, does well off his leash, and is a really well-behaved guy. All he wants is to be loved and paid attention to. PLEASE! Sammy does not deserve to die simply because his family cannot keep him and he is a senior. He still has several years left to live and he deserves to be able to live those years out!!! Please share this on facebook, forward to your friends and tell everyone you know! We need to find this baby a home!

*This is a courtesy posting, which means Sammy is not in our rescue group. We are helping his owners find him a home. If you can help please contact us at 830-5655 or 597-3393. THANKS!

Help Us Pay for Trevor's Vet Bill

Poor Trevor! We noticed a small lesion on the back of his neck a few days ago and last night it ruptured! The vet says it looks like he got into a fight, which would fit the story his owner's gave us about him fighting, but it actually looks like Trevor was the victim in the scruff! It looks like another animal attacked him! We don't know if it was the previous owners' new dog or their other cat, or if they irresponsibly let him outside where he got into with another cat. Trevor can't even defend himself because the previous owners went and got him declawed! Trevor was treated with an antibiotic injection and we will continue to treat with a topical antibiotic ointment. But we need some help paying for Trevor's vet bill today! The total was $128. If you can spare a dollar or two to his cause, please donate here: http://havenhousecats.chipin.com/trevors-vet-bills

Turn Trash into Cash to Save Kitties' Lives!

We are starting a new fundraiser to help us raise money to continue our mission of saving cats and kittens, spaying/neutering, and finding forever homes for them. This is going to be an ONGOING fundraiser, so we will always collect donations.

Here's what we are doing: we have signed up with Funding Factory to redeem cash for recycling old cell phones, ink cartridges, digital cameras and laptops.

We are asking all our friends and sponsors to help us out by collecting and donating old cell phones, cameras, ink cartridges and laptops to our rescue to be redeemed for cash. If your place of employment uses a lot of ink, see if they would be willing to donate all the old ink cartridges. Every single penny will go to the cats in our care. It will also help us save more kitties in the future.

You can help by collecting items and spreading the word! Ask everyone you know if they can donate any of the above listed items to our fundraiser. You can reach us at havenhousecats@aol.com to arrange drop-off or pick-up.
